Updated American College of Rheumatology/American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons guideline for the perioperative management of antirheumatic medication in patients with rheumatic diseases undergoing elective total hip or total knee arthroplasty 2022

The article presents updated guidelines developed by the American College of Rheumatology and Association Hip Knee Surgeons on perioperative treatment patients with rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic juvenile idiopathic arthritis systemic lupus erythematosus undergoing elective total hip or knee arthroplasty. use anti-rheumatic drug therapy, including traditional disease-modi fying antirheumatic drugs, biologic agents, targeted synthetic small-molecule drugs glucocorticoids. All recommendations are conditional based results retrospective clinical studies, which should be taken into account in decisionmaking when choosing therapy.
